H&M Dress

Hey!
I admit, I have an addiction to going online and looking through pages of clothes. It may be considered a classified problem. Today, I was doing my daily browsing session and I stumbled upon a dress. I had seen this dress when it first came out but it caught my attention again.
As most of us know the spring comes a very important time for most teenage girls. This very special occasion is PROM! Unfortunately, I can't find a date and the school won't let me go since I am not in the school so I will not be partaking in these prom festivities. However, I have stalked the prom dress group. Lets just say I have seen the options of I'd rather burn the outfit while still wearing it and questioning whether the blind picked out their dress. A bit harsh but I am overly critical. This is one of the few times in a girls life were she can get all dolled up and be the cliched princess for the night. I would want to be the best dressed out of every girl there! Prom is the epidemy of cliches and it doesn't stop short of the dresses. I cannot stress enough do not use shiny fabric, insane prints/ colors, or the overdose on the jewels/ appliqués.

Since this is one of the events in life you cannot repeat, your look should as if you are going to walk the red carpet.  The dress to the left is what I have been obsessing over all day! This dress is from H&M and retails for $299. http://www.hm.com/us/product/00665?article=00665-A The price may seem a little pricey but this dress is an "I die" moment. The dress is so high fashion and no one else will have this look or anything similar to it. The ruffles add that dramatic edge even though the top is simple. I could totally see this look replicated on the red carpet and ruffles have been a huge hit for the carpet. Add a leather jacket to edge up the look to wear for other occasions or for warmth.

I am loving these shoes for this dress. They are Rebecca Minkoff pumps for $350. The lizard print sort of reminds me of the ruffle of the dress. I think the gray colors will complement each other nicely since you don't want to distract from the dress. Love the studs on the side to give it edge and punk it up.

For the jewelry, I think you need to be simplistic. I love this Juliet & Company bracelet for $42. This dress is so dramatic so you don't want to go overboard with the jewels. A statement necklace may be to much since you want the attention on the skirt. I think that a a bracelet or ring would be the perfect assessory. You don't want to overpower the dress.

Peplum skirt!

Hello!
Last July, Emma Stone rocked this colorblock dress with the peplum skirt. At first I was a little baffled by it but I had a change of heart and found it stunning. Here is the picture of what really started my love for the peplum skirt.

This trend can be quite intimidating especially for women. No girl wants to add extra attention to their waist or hip area. This trend can work for every body shape though. For the petite girl you can wear any sort of peplum. Your figure can withstand a larger peplum since it'll give you that nice hour glass shape. For fiercely real women, keep your peplum smaller and not as exaggerated. You don't want to add extra fabric to that area but that doesn't mean you can't rock this trend. This trend is totally dramatic so don't be afraid to go for it!
This dress goes for $74. I absolutely love this dress and may need to get it for myself! It's totally chic and classic. I love this salmon color especially with the warmer weather. The V-neck lets you show off your collarbone and neck. The peplum makes it super stylish and gives it a unique flair. This is a look that you can wear to the office and then go to meet friends with.

This dress goes for $58. What I love about this is it isn't the typical peplum skirt, it goes over the hips and straight down the front and back instead of around the hips. My other favorite feature of this dress is the scoop back since I love showing off a back! Pair it with a wedge for an easy look or dress this up with a pump.

This dress goes for $68. This is another unique form of the peplum skirt since it is tiered which makes it seems very feminine. There is a cutout back which is another "major" feature. This dress comes with the leopard print belt. I love how girly this dress is especially with the chiffon. This color will look great on tan or darker skinned girls.

This Asos dress is on sale for $68.04. What I love about this dress is how office appropriate this dress is yet it's really stylish. This cream color isn't to bright so you won't stand out in the office. Along with that it isn't overly sexy with the cap sleeve but you can still show off your legs. Wear it with a bright colored pump to edge it up or cardigan for colder days.

This Asos dress goes for 85.94. This dress reminds me of the Stella McCartney dress that Kate Winslet wore that was white with the black siding.  That dress was used to give her the perfect shape and this dress has the black siding which will help accentuate your shape. This pink color is perfect for the warmer weather and to give you a pop of color.

This Asos top goes for $35.81. This top is simplistic but the peplum gives it drama. It's the perfect way to try this trend without going overboard. Pair this with tighter bottoms like jeans, shorts, or a skirt. The tighter bottoms with contrast nicely with the flair at the hips. Wear it with skinny jeans and wedges for a summer night or a black skirt and heels for the office.

This Asos top goes for $39.39. What I love about this top is how sporty it feels. You don't have to be a girly girl to wear this. Another key feature is the neon trim against the zipper in the back. This zipper gives it a pop of color and is totally chic. You can dress it up with skinny black pants (pictured) or with shorts.
This Asos skirt goes for $53.72. I love being able to have a skirt so you can mix up the top and make it your own. This skirt comes in four colors of red, black, white, and baby blue. This skirt is perfect for the office or date night. Add a tank top for a date or a tighter blouse for the office. This look is so easy to create a great, stylish outfit.

This Betsey Johnson skirt is on sale for $46.99. You have the peplum trend in your skirt. I like the print of the floral look on it as well. Florals are always a hit and this skirt doesn't go overboard since you have the black background of the skirt. Pair it with a tank top and cardigan to complete the look. Make sure your top is simple so you don't distract from your skirt.

This Betsey Johnson jacket goes for $298. I have rarely seen a jacket with the peplum look so this is an unexpected twist. The leopard print is a fun print as well. I like how this jacket actually looks like a top and you would never want to take it off. This look you definitely need guts to wear this look.

The peplum trend has still been a hit and graced the red carpet from countless celebs. Everyone from Kate Middleton, Blake Lively, and Michelle Willaims have all rocked this trend. You can wear this trend on an evening gown (Michelle) , skirt (Blake), or jacket (Kate). Be confident and work this trend to fit to your body type.
